Founded in the City in 1894 City of London School for Girls is set on a single site with open spaces surrounding. Its own indoor heated swimming pool is just part of a well equipped and highly successful school that nestles in the attractive and stimulating Barbican which itself offers great opportunity for theatre, music and history. About 20% of pupils go onto Oxbridge with virtually 100% taking degree courses. Academic results are excellent and the music and art departments are strong. There are a wide range of clubs and societies and a number of plays/concerts and outings are held in association with the City of London Boys School nearby. Design Technology and Computing are well established and are developing still further. Success has been enjoyed at all levels in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and community service is compulsory for 1 year at 16+. The range of extra curricular activities, charity events and City opportunities are well supported by a highly qualified, enthusiastic and caring staff - all this ensuring pupils gain a well rounded education with academic success the central core.
